Our Approach
Our Breeding Philosophy
Responsible breeding isn't a checklist — it's a mindset. It means asking hard questions before every pairing: Are these animals healthy? Are their temperaments sound? Will their offspring be better for it? It means being willing to say no to a breeding that doesn't meet our standards, even when it would be profitable.
We believe the best breeders are students of their breed. We study pedigrees, attend events, consult with mentors, and stay current on genetic research. We're always learning — because the animals we bring into the world deserve our best effort.

Six Pillars of Responsible Breeding
Health Testing First
No breeding animal enters our program without passing appropriate health and genetic testing. We share all results openly with approved families.
Pedigree Research
We study the pedigrees behind every pairing — looking at health history, conformation, temperament, and longevity across multiple generations.
Genetic Diversity
We use coefficient of inbreeding (COI) calculations to ensure our pairings maintain healthy genetic diversity and reduce the risk of inherited conditions.
Temperament Selection
Structure matters, but temperament matters more. We only breed animals with stable, confident, family-appropriate personalities.
Responsible Placement
We review every application personally. We ask questions, have conversations, and take the time to match each animal with the right family — not just the first family.
Lifetime Support
Our responsibility doesn't end at placement. We're available for questions, guidance, and support throughout the life of every animal we place.

Health Testing by Breed
Miniature Dachshunds
IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease)
Type 1 IVDD is the most significant health concern in Dachshunds. We test all breeding animals and only produce IVDD-clear or carefully managed carrier × clear pairings.
PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy)
Genetic eye disease that can lead to blindness. All breeding animals are tested and results are shared with families.

200+ condition and trait panel providing comprehensive genetic health information for every breeding animal.
American Bullies
Hip & Elbow Evaluation
OFA or PennHIP evaluation to screen for dysplasia — a significant concern in larger, muscular breeds.
Cardiac Evaluation
Cardiac clearance by a board-certified cardiologist, following ABKC health guidelines.
